As mentioned above, Indian passport holders with an ordinary passport no longer require a visa or an Iran visa on arrival for Indian citizens if the purpose of travel is tourism. However, that is not the case for employment.
The visas for Indians travelling to Iran are available upon arrival for tourism and temporary visits. However, for other types of visits, a visa must be obtained before travelling. Regardless of the purpose, an online visa application is still required.
Only individuals holding ordinary passports will be permitted to enter Iran without a visa. Only an entry once every six months with a maximum stay of 15 days is permitted. The 15- day period cannot be extended. The exemption is only for Iran's tourist visa requirements for Indian citizens
